World Mental health day

The World Mental health day is celebrated on October 11. World Mental Health Day is celebrated to create public awareness about mental health and related issues. The day invites us to promote open discussion of mental disorders, and investments in prevention, promotion, rehabilitation and treatment services. This year the theme for the day is “Depression: A Global Crisis”.

Depression affects more than 350 million people of all ages, in all communities, and is a significant contributor to the global burden of disease. Although there are known effective treatments for depression, access to treatment is a problem in most countries and in some countries fewer than 10% of those who need it receive such treatment.
On this day I met divorced lady. Looking happy and smart yet what made her to go for divorce? The answer came from the relatives, depression.
Depression is a global problem. It is seen in all people of all walks of life. Parents speak of it of their young children. Thanks to the generous souls who care for such people in the rehabilitation centre and even at home.
